Group lessons are starting next month here at Red Dirt Music Academy! We are so excited to be able to offer more variety to students and families who are current or prospective. Now, most of you are thinking what is the benefit when I already receive private lessons? The benefits of group lessons are different but just as beneficial as private lessons.

In group lessons, students can make friends with their peers in the class. Students, who are shy about asking questions, may have the question answered when another student asks or when a student demonstrates the technique that the instructor is trying to describe. Competitive students may practice more as opposed to private lessons when they see others have practiced. Games can be incorporated into lessons in a group setting and can be fun while learning. We will be able to have fun themes and camps throughout the year integrated into group lessons! 

All of these are great benefits for the student but what about time and cost? The group lesson will be 45 minutes. It is 15 minutes more than our average weekly lessons, but we want to make sure that each student benefits from the group lesson. It also gives the instructor 15 minutes to prepare and finish before the next lesson. The cost of the lesson is less than a weekly lesson but the benefit will be better for those who are wanting lessons but can’t afford private lessons. Group lessons are also a great way to see if your child is ready for music lessons. The group sessions will be 6 to 8 weeks depending on the theme. We will have beginner classes and advanced classes. 

Signups for group classes are starting this week! Be sure to reserve your spot. Below are the guidelines to whether or not group lessons are the right choice for you.

• 6 – 8 weeks of lessons based on theme
• 45 minute weekly lessons
• No makeup options, a video lesson will be sent in place of missed attendance
• $30 per lesson ($180-$240 per session)
• Teacher absences are an automatic reschedule for all students
