There are many benefits to singing lessons. All music lessons are great for building confidence in students. Voice lessons, specifically, help with speech articulation. Importantly, music lessons help develop a student’s grit. Grit is the stick-to-it-ness that is important for adults to have when accomplishing goals. Megan Montgomery has been teaching with Red Dirt Music Academy since early 2021. She specializes in music theatre and rock. Megan can be seen performing at local theatre shows and most recently performed with The Factory Obscura in downtown Oklahoma City. Megan is currently accepting students at RDMA.
Robby Ray is still fresh to the Red Dirt Team and has been hired to teach advanced piano. Robby also specializes in voice lessons. Robby is finishing up his Bachelor’s in Opera Performance. Robby is currently accepting voice students at the academy.
Stephen Jones has been with the Red Dirt Team for quite some time. He specializes in Opera and has done performances with the Civic Center in downtown Oklahoma City. He was in the notable opera, The Barber of Seville. Stephen is currently taking voice students with Red Dirt via Zoom.
Group voice lessons will soon be available at Red Dirt Music Academy. There are many benefits to being a part of group lessons. Students in group lessons tend to practice more because of a sense of accountability to the entire class. Group classes are charged at a lower rate to help with budgets. Each class will also meet at different times during the week if a student can’t make their normal class time for any reason.
Private singing lessons are also available at the studio. The benefits of private lessons are just as important but differ from group lessons. Individualized attention to the student and individualized lesson plans are among some of these differences. Private lessons are less flexible on time than group lessons and require a 24-hour notice for reschedules. Custom recorded video lessons are provided for canceled lessons with less than 24 hours’ notice.
